Pre-authorized Payment Plan
The Town of Grimsby offers pre-authorized payment plans for both property tax and water payments.
Applying for pre-authorized payments
To apply for one of a pre-authorized payment plan, the following criteria must be met:
- Your property must be fully assessed, including both land and structures
- Your account must be paid and be up to date
- Provide a void check from your financial institution
Complete a pre-authorized payment plan enrollment form
Missed Payments
Your account must remain up to date. Any returned payments may result in being automatically removed from the plan.

Monthly planPayments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the 15th day of the month from January through to October each year:
Installment planPayments will be automatically withdrawn from your bank account on the regular tax due dates shown on your tax bill:

Water pre-authorized payment plan |
To enroll in the water pre-authorized payment plan, your account must be paid up to date. Your water account must remain up to date. Any returned payments may result in being automatically removed from the plan. Due date planThe due date plan automatically withdraws the amount owing on the due date as indicated on your water bill. You can enroll in the water pre-authorized plan at any time of the year as long as your account is paid up to date. |
Cancelling your pre-authorized plan
Cancel a pre-authorized payment plan form
You may withdraw from your pre-authorized plan at any time, subject to providing written notice to the Town of Grimsby. Notice must be received at least 10 business days prior to the next scheduled withdrawal. Payments made prior to cancellation may not be refunded. To cancel pre-authorized payments, complete and submit a pre-authorized cancellation form.
How to update your banking information
To update your banking information, complete and submit a pre-authorized change form. You will also need to attach a void cheque or a pre-authorized form from your financial institution.
