The Grimsby Community Development Grant Program is intended to assist non-profit and charitable organizations by supporting community-based projects that seek to enhance the well-being of Grimsby residents. Application for the 2027 period is open Tuesday, August 4, 2026, and closes Sunday, October 4, 2026.
Applicants can apply for 30% of eligible project costs up to a maximum of $100,000.

FAQs
The Grimsby Community Development Grant is a program intended to assist non-profit and charitable organizations that manage community-based projects which seek to enhance the well-being of Grimsby residents.
The GCDG program was launched in 2023 as a pilot program. Due to the success of the Pilot program, the GCDG program was officially approved by Council on July 8, 2024. It is now in its third year of being offered by the Town.
Incorporated non-profit organizations and Registered charitable organizations. Please review the Grant Policy on the Town website for a detailed list of eligibility criteria.
Some eligible expenses for this grant include facility construction/renovation costs, equipment/vehicle purchase, contribution to an existing capital project to enhance/expand project scope etc. Please review the Grant Policy on the Town website for a detailed list of eligible and ineligible projects and expenditures.
Applications for the GCDG program close on Sunday, September 14th at 11:59 pm. Any applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Applying to other Town grants will not affect your eligibility for the GCDG program.
The maximum allowable funding per organization is 30% of the project cost up to $100,000.
No, the grant amount awarded is determined by the volume of applications received. There is a limited funding pool for these grants and eligible applicants will be assessed to the degree that they meet the assessment criteria.
To ensure the selection process is fair, equitable and transparent, a grant review panel with a mix of Town staff and committee members has been established. Selected applicants are brought to Council, who make the final decision. Please refer to the Grant Policy on the Town website for more details.
Review the “Application Assessment Criteria” outlined in the Grant Policy and Program Application Guide, along with the scoring criteria presented in the Grant Evaluation Matrix.
Only one application can be submitted per organization. Submitting more than one application could result in all submissions being disqualified.
