The Town of Grimsby's Celebration of Lights is an annual event that recognizes Grimsby residents for the hard work and holiday spirit put into their lights display at their home or business. Residents nominate the best lit houses, and the top 3 selected houses receive a $150.00 gift card.

Town Tree Lighting

Location: Town Tree - Located Outside Town Hall
Kick off the holidays with the lighting of our Town Tree "Hope". Light refreshments and music inside Town Hall following the lighting.
Santa Claus Parade
Date: First Saturday of December

The Grimsby Santa Claus Parade is one of the longest running events in Grimsby. The parade was once a morning event, but in the year 2000 the parade was moved to an evening event to celebrate the millennium. It was such a success that it has remained an evening event ever since. Each year the parade consists of approximately 90 entries which includes community floats, walking groups, marching bands and various entertainment. Canada Post volunteers will be collecting letters to Santa along the route.
The Grimsby Santa Claus Parade is the perfect kickoff to your holiday celebrations - don't miss it.

Parade Route: Eastbound along Livingston Avenue/Main Street West starting at Blessed Trinity Secondary School and ending at the Ontario Street intersection

Road Closures
- 4:00 PM to 7:30 PM: Livingston Avenue from Roberts Road to Kerman Avenue
- 4:30 PM to 8:00 PM: Livingston Avenue/Main Street from Kerman Avenue to Ontario Street
- 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM: Clark Street from Ontario Street to Christie Street
- 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM: Restricted access along John Street and Robinson Street North for disbanding area
Accessibility: The parade will offer an accessible viewing area at Main Street and Livingston. Trinity United Church, 100 Main Street West, will be reserved for accessible parking on a first come first serve basis.
Mayor's Annual Levee
Date: Sunday, January 4th
Time: 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM
Location: West Pad at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre
Join Mayor Jeff Jordan and Council for the annual Mayor's Levee featuring free public skating on the West Pad at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre on Sunday, January 4 from 2 - 4 pm. Capacity limits apply.
The Mayor's Youth Advisory Committee will be on-site serving complimentary hot chocolate and treats, while quantities last.
Family Day Run of the Rink
Date: Monday, February 16th
Time: 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Location: Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre
Free public skating, Wee Gym, face painting, balloon twisting, and crafts with Creative Bug.

Most outdoor events take place rain or shine unless otherwise noted. In the event of severe weather or an event cancellation, updates will be shared on the Town's website and official social media channels.
Portable and/or permanent washroom facilities are available at most event locations. Please refer to the event page or on-site signage for locations.
Many events feature local food vendors or are located near restaurants and cafés. Availability varies by event.
Leashed pets are welcome at most outdoor events unless otherwise specified. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets and ensuring they remain under control at all times.
Photography and video recording may take place during Town events for promotional and archival purposes. By attending, you may appear in photographs or videos used by the Town of Grimsby.
Smoking and vaping are prohibited where required under municipal by-laws and provincial legislation. Please dispose of cigarette waste responsibly.
Alcohol and cannabis consumption is permitted only where specifically authorized. Please follow all posted signage and applicable laws.
