What is the Grimsby Arts Walk?

Celebrate art, culture and heritage at our third annual Grimsby Arts Walk, Saturday, September 21, 2024 from 11:00 - 3:00 pm. This vibrant event encourages participants to explore Grimsby as they walk (or jump on the complimentary shuttle) between four participating venues - Coronation Park, Grimsby Museum, Grimsby Public Art Gallery and Nelles Manor Museum. Each venue will feature a rich tapestry of art displays and interactive experiences that showcase local creativity and history.

Stop by our studio programming table and get a taste of the fun we have in our youth art classes! Our GPAG Studio Instructors will guide you through an art project you can take home and leave you feeling like an accomplished artist. Our table is open to participants of all ages and abilities, art-making is awesome no matter how old you are!

Quintin Teszeri's Florescence: A Community Collage Project 12 - 3 pm
Part of the GPAG Community Exhibition Space project, Florescence, community members of all ages and skillsets are invited to participate in this one-of-a-kind collage making activity at GPAG! Using traditional botanical illustrations, drop in at any point between 12:00 and 3:00PM to collage your very own imagined plants and be added to the growing community garden on display in the main lobby. Be sure to stop by and visit often to see how the community garden’s flowers and plants grow and shift over the course of the exhibition!
Fall Exhibitions Opening Reception 12 - 3 pm
Opening receptions for Yield, with works by Huy Lam, and Surroundings, with works by Erin Greenizan, Amanda Large, Gordon Leverton, and Katherine Jones. Artists will be in attendance.

Call for Artists and Artisans

As part of the event, the Grimsby Public Art Gallery will be hosting a juried art show. All artists and artisans are welcome to submit their application for the juried show. Your work will be juried for quality and to ensure that a wide variety of mediums will be showcased, and all artwork submitted to the jury must be for sale.

Grimsby Arts Walk juror’s welcome individual artists and artisans, working in all mediums; painting, photography, sculpture, glass, woodturning, textiles, jewelry and more, with formal or informal training to apply. Artists are encouraged to submit artwork created within the last three years. Established and emerging artists are welcome.

Grimsby Arts Walk accepts 80% original artworks and 20% may be reproductions such as giclée or limited-edition prints.
