Crews continued night work on Main Street East this week between Kingsway Boulevard and Robinson Street, and watermain has now been installed the full length of this stretch.
The Town of Grimsby is now accepting applications for its 2026 Volunteer Firefighter Recruitment Campaign.
The Town provides a wide range of services to the community, while balancing affordability, infrastructure needs, growth and long-term planning.
To better understand which services are a priority to residents, the Town of Grimsby has setup “Let’s Talk Budget 2027”, a page with information on how the Town budget works and a short survey for the community to answer about how they would like the budget used in the coming year. Feedback from this survey will help guide investments in public safety, parks, housing, infrastructure, and more.
Please be advised that Ridge Road East will be closed between Russ Road and Church Road today (Monday, September 14) from approximately 1 to 5 p.m. to allow crews to complete paving work over a culvert.
Work continued along Main Street East this week, with crews advancing the new watermain and services past Kingsway Boulevard. Crews have also been navigating challenging underground conditions, including remnants of a buried rail line and concrete base that need to be removed before the new watermain can be installed.
Pepper & Thyme have opened their doors at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre to provide concessions for the space's events, games, and more.
Night work at the Main Street and Elm Street intersection wraps up this weekend, and the Downtown Reimagined project then shifts east along Main Street East. Crews have made significant progress at the Main Street and Elm Street intersection this week, working overnight since Monday. Due to Wednesday's storms, work at the intersection continues tonight, Friday, September 4, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and is expected to wrap Saturday morning; roads will reopen and remain accessible
In observance of Labour Day, please be aware that Town Hall, the Grimsby Museum, the Grimsby Public Library, the Grimsby Public Art Gallery, the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre, and the Operations Centre will be closed Monday, September 7.
Please note, for urgent matters related to the Operations Centre outside of operating hours, please call (905) 945-9201
UPDATE: Ridge Road East has re-opened to all through traffic. Thank you everyone for your patience.
