Nomination, Registration and Campaign Period Begins May 1, 2026

Candidates, and Third Party Advertisers may begin filing the prescribed Nomination and registration forms. After Candidates file Nomination forms, the Campaign period begins and the Use of Corporate Resources Policy is now applicable.

Nomination Day Aug. 21, 2026

The final date to submit or withdraw Nomination forms. Nominations or Withdrawals cannot be accepted after 2 p.m.

Election Signs Permitted to be Posted Aug. 22, 2026

Refer to the Election Sign By-law for guidelines on the appropriate use of Election Signs.

Voters' List Available Sept. 1, 2026

The Voters’ List will be made available to certified Candidates, upon request. Individuals may make an application to revise the Voters’ List until Election Day.

Registration for Third Party Advertiser Deadline Oct. 23, 2026

Last day for Third Party Advertisers to file a Notice of Registration or Withdrawal. The filing must be made no later than 4:30 p.m.

Election Day Oct. 26, 2026

In-person voting will be available from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Electors must attend the designated Polling Location on their Voter Information Letter.

Declaration of Results Oct. 27, 2026

Official results for the 2026 Municipal Election will be posted on the Town of Grimsby's Website.

2022-2026 Term of Office Ends Nov. 14, 2026

The 2022-2026 Council Term of Office officially ends.

2026-2030 Term of Office Begins Nov. 15, 2026

The 2026-2030 Council Term of Office officially begins.

Council Inauguration Nov. 23, 2026

The first formal meeting of the new Term of Council will take place.
