It’s the largest event of its kind in North America!
The International Plowing Match and Rural Expo has been celebrating agriculture and rural living for more than a century. Event highlights include plowing competitions, back-to-back live entertainment, hundreds of vendors and exhibitors, countless learning opportunities, activities for all ages, and the famous Tented City.
The IPM is held in a different community each year, and it takes a collective effort to host an event of this magnitude. The Ontario Plowmen’s Association, with the support of West Lincoln, Grimsby, Lincoln, and Niagara Region, is preparing to welcome more than 70,000 visitors to West Niagara. The last time the Niagara Region hosted the IPM was 98 years ago, in 1926, when it was held in Niagara Falls and Welland.
The Town of Grimsby is excited to leave its mark on the IPM and to take this opportunity to highlight and celebrate local landmarks as well as contributions to farming and rural life.
Projected to contribute approximately $25 million to the economy, the IPM serves as a major catalyst for tourism and business activity, generating both immediate revenue and long-term exposure for local municipalities and the region.
