November 2025

Do you have some prior experience with calligraphy or are an adventurous beginner? Then this is the workshop for you! 

Join us at the Grimsby Museum on November 1st from 1pm to 4pm for an exciting second workshop in collaboration with Fifth of June!

This is a beginner level workshop, welcoming new and returning calligraphers. Get ready to elevate your gifts for the gift-giving season or anytime of the year! In this class you will learn warm-up drills, foundational strokes, how to create lowercase letters and connect letters to form words, and add style by bouncing words. You will receive a calligraphy workbook with access to a video that goes over the foundation strokes, creating lowercase letters, connecting words, and uppercase letters. You will also receive 2 Fudenosuke pens (hard and soft tips), 3 blank Kraft cards with cream envelopes, and 3 gift tags with cream ribbon.

Tickets are $50 per person (not including processing); all materials are included.

Pre-registration is required; space is limited. Workshop subject to a minimum and maximum. 

Ages 14+(Please note anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the entirety of the program.)

Saturday, November 8th at 1:00 p.m. at the Grimsby Museum

Join us for a special Remembrance Day talk and Q&A with guest speaker Major Robert Tremblay.

Major Tremblay has served in two peacekeeping missions, in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Haiti. Hear firsthand about his experiences in the military and his reflections on what Remembrance Day means to those who serve.

This program is free to attend, though donations are appreciatedPre registration is strongly encouraged to confirm your attendance.

This is an all-ages, family-friendly event. Please note that participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the program.

Save the Date: November 15 | 1:00–2:00 PM

Bring your family and join us for a Winter Wreath Making Workshop! This self-guided session is all about creativity, design and craft a wreath that’s uniquely yours. All materials are provided.

Cost: $15 per group. Each group will receive materials to create one wreath. This event is geared toward families with young kids, you are welcome to come by yourself but please be aware the price does not change.

Holiday Market at the Grimsby Museum

Free admission – all are welcome!

Saturday, December 13th | 11 AM – 4 PM | Indoors

Join us at the Grimsby Museum for a festive Holiday Market just in time for the gift-giving season! Discover an array of local artisans and handmade treasures, perfect for finding something unique for your loved ones.

While you’re here, enjoy complimentary mulled cider, let the kids get creative with fun holiday-themed crafts, and take some time to explore our permanent exhibit.

It’s the perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon getting into the holiday spirit! Shop local, support small businesses, and celebrate the season with us!

January 2026

Join us at the Grimsby Museum on January 16th anytime from 11am to 2pm for drop in crafting!

Let your child explore our variety of crafting materials to create something truly unique. 

All ages are welcome! Admission by donation in support of the Grimsby Museum.

Online pre registration is preferred but day of drop ins are welcome. Adults are required to remain with children for the entirety of your visit. Children can not be dropped off.

Join the Grimsby Museum and Alan Cross for another exciting talk January 29th at Southward Park. This time Alan has had an opportunity to talk to some of the biggest names in rock. What have these interviews revealed? Let’s spill some tea!

February 2026

February 7th from 1pm-4pm

Join us for a fun faux calligraphy workshop in collaboration with Fifth of June. We’ll start by practicing the basic strokes using simple tools like pencils and paint pens. Then, we’ll go through the full alphabet, uppercase and lowercase, using the faux calligraphy technique. Once you’re feeling confident, we’ll use gold paint pens to monogram a little dish that’s perfect for holding jewelry or trinkets.

All materials are included, your kit includes everything you need: a gold paint pen, a pencil, faux calligraphy worksheets or workbook, and carbon paper to transfer your design onto the dish. You’ll also get access to a video tutorial so you can keep practicing at home.
