Mayor and Council

Grimsby Town Council is governed by a Mayor and eight councillors who serve a four-year term. The current term of Council runs from December 2018 - November 2022.

The Mayor is elected at large and the Councillors are elected by ward. The Town is divided into four wards with two Councillors elected in each. To find out what ward you live in, click this link to access the Town's ward locator.

Committee of the Whole and Council Schedule

Committee of the Whole and Council meetings are generally the 1st and 3rd Mondays of each month. Currently the meetingsa are available through electronic participation. All meetings are televised on YourTV Ch. 700 across the Niagara Region on the Wednesday following a Monday meeting at 1:00 PM. (For Grimsby Town Council meetings delayed by a holiday Monday or schedule change, the broadcast time on YourTV would be later that same week)

Speaking at council as a delegation

Residents wishing to appear before Committee of the Whole or Council as a delegation must put their request in writing. Contact the Town Clerk directly to make your request.

The deadline to submit a request to speak before Committee of the Whole or Council as a delegation is the Friday (by noon) prior to the upcoming meeting. For more information please visit here.

Code of Conduct for members of council

In addition to their statutory responsibilities under the Municipal Act, the Mayor and Councillors are subject to the Code of Conduct for Members of Council.
