The Town of Grimsby has been awarded over $7.1 million by the province of Ontario under the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund to assist with the Town’s Wastewater Infiltration and Inflow Program. These renovations would not only preserve the current infrastructure and green space of Grimsby but would pave the way for the construction of additional housing zones.
A total open-air burn ban has been implemented in the Town of Grimsby as of August 11, 2025 until further notice.
The new pedestrian bridge installed at Forty Mile Creek Park (Elizabeth Street Pumphouse) is officially open to the public. Closed for several years, this new bridge provides an important connection from the Forty Mile Creek Trail to other parts of the community.
Environment Canada has issued a multi-day heat event for the Niagara Region, beginning Saturday, Aug. 9, 2025. Temperatures are expected to become slightly cooler by the middle of next week, bringing an end to the heat event.

Environment Canada has issued a Special Air Quality Statement for the Niagara Region for July 31. Due to smoke from forest fires over the Prairies continuing to affect Southern Ontario, expect poor air quality and reduced visibility throughout the day.
The Town of Grimsby will soon begin a water meter replacement program, which will see approximately 2,100 aging water meters upgraded throughout the community. There is no cost to property owners for the replacement.
The Town of Grimsby, in collaboration with the Niagara Physicians’ Healthcare Alliance, Niagara Region, and the other 11 local municipalities are coming together to encourage residents to Connect to Care and Find a Doctor, on the updated Find a Doctor webpage that helps residents locate and register with over two dozen available family doctors in Niagara.
A reminder to all residents of the Town of Grimsby that payments for the first installment of Final 2025 tax bills are due on Friday, August 1, 2025.
The Ontario Plowman’s Association, with support of West Lincoln, Grimsby, Lincoln and Niagara Region, are set to welcome more than 70,000 visitors to west Niagara as they host this year’s International Plowing Match and Rural Expo (IPM), with its lively celebration of agriculture and rural living from September 16 to 20, 2025.
