Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for Feb. 23

A winter weather advisory is in effect for Niagara tonight (February 23, 2026) and is expected to last until Tuesday, February 24. Resources are available for anyone seeking shelter from the extreme cold.

Cold Weather & Regional Service Impacts

  • When temperatures fall below -10°C, Niagara Region activates a Winter Weather Advisory, adding extra emergency shelter beds
  • Niagara Transit provides free transportation to warming centres in the region, along with any Town of Grimsby designated warming spaces
  • The Town of Grimsby provides warming spaces in designated public facilities during regular business hours
