Weather Update - Town Facilities Open

Most Town of Grimsby facilities are open today and operating as scheduled until otherwise posted, with the exception of the Grimsby Public Library, which is closed today.

Please note that road and sidewalk conditions may still be challenging in some areas. Our snow maintenance crews have been working overnight and are fully deployed this morning, clearing escarpment accesses, main roads, local roads, and sidewalks. It will take time to reach all areas, particularly smaller streets and sidewalks.

Important reminder to support snow clearing operations:

To help crews work safely and efficiently, please keep vehicles off the roads where possible. Under Town of Grimsby By-law No. 16-82 (Section 2.14.01.13), parking is not permitted on public roads during snow removal operations.

What to know before heading out:

• Significant snowfall continues (20–30 cm expected)
• Reduced visibility in heavy and blowing snow
• Very cold wind chills
• Travel conditions may be hazardous

If you must travel:

• Allow extra time
• Drive according to conditions
• Use caution on sidewalks and in parking lots

Non-essential travel should be avoided.
