Update: Storm Recovery Efforts Continue Across Grimsby
Following yesterday's significant rainfall, Public Works crews continue recovery efforts across the community by clearing debris, inspecting and cleaning catch basins, addressing localized drainage concerns, and ensuring municipal roads and infrastructure remain safe.
We appreciate the patience and cooperation of our residents as crews continue their work. We would also like to thank everyone who safely helped clear catch basins and remove debris during the storm. Your efforts helped improve drainage in many areas and are a great example of our community working together.
Although the storm has passed, some areas may still have standing water, debris, or localized flooding.
Residents are reminded to:
- Use caution when travelling and avoid flooded areas whenever possible.
- Report municipal concerns to the Town of Grimsby Operations Centre at 905-945-9201.
- Call 911 in the event of an emergency.
- Contact your insurance provider directly if your property has sustained flood damage.
- Report concerns on Regional Roads to Niagara Region Central Dispatch at 905-984-3690 or 1-877-552-5579.
- Continue monitoring forecasts and weather alerts from Environment and Climate Change Canada.
Thank you to our Public Works crews, emergency responders, and residents for your patience, cooperation, and support throughout this weather event. Together, we are helping Grimsby recover safely.
