Town of Grimsby Celebrates Completion of PKC Sponsorship Campaign

The Town of Grimsby officially kicked off the Peach King Centre Expansion and Renovation sponsorship campaign with an ambitious $1 million goal—and thanks to the incredible support of our local businesses, that goal has been achieved, paving the way for the success of Grimsby’s vibrant new community and wellness hub.

The campaign was launched to help offset the future operating costs of the PKC and ensure that programs and services remain affordable and accessible to residents of all ages. Sponsorship agreements have been secured for a 10-year term, beginning once the expanded facility officially opens.

The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2025, with the official full reopening set for January 2026. The renewed Peach King Centre will include a range of new and modernized spaces, creating a welcoming home for recreation and community life.

Sponsor Recognition

The Town recognizes the following sponsors for their contributions to the campaign. Their naming rights will take effect for a 10-year term once the newly expanded and renovated Peach King Centre officially opens:

  • Major Refrigeration - Building naming sponsor; once the renovation and expansion is complete, the facility will be known as the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre.
  • UrbanLink - Naming sponsor of the west ice pad, which will be known as the UrbanLink Arena.
  • Wills Chevrolet - Sponsor of the gymnasium.
  • Norstar Windows and Doors - Naming sponsor of the east ice pad, which will be known as the Norstar Arena.
  • Fiore Vacca Consultants - Naming sponsor of the indoor walking track, which will be known as the Vacca Indoor Track.
  • BioPed Footcare & Orthotics - Naming sponsor of the BioPed Fitness Studio.
  • Orchardview Guardian Pharmacy - Naming sponsor of the Orchardview Fitness Centre.
  • Craig Budd Insurance Agency - Sponsor of a gymnasium score clock.
  • Subway Grimsby & Beamsville - Sponsor of a gymnasium score clock.

About the Project

The Peach King Centre Expansion and Renovation project represents a community-driven vision to enhance recreation opportunities and meet the growing demand for modern, multi-use indoor spaces. Originating from the 2019 Parks, Recreation and Culture Master Plan, the project received a $16 million grant from the Ontario Government’s Strategic Priorities Infrastructure Fund (SPIF).

Key features of the expansion include:

  • Double gymnasium (dividable)
  • Second-floor indoor walking track
  • Multi-use community rooms
  • Fitness centre and fitness studio
  • Youth centre and reflection room
  • Concession area
  • West Pad dressing room improvements
  • Parking enhancements

Construction is currently ongoing at the Peach King Centre site, with the project now 75% complete. The facility reopened for ice only operations in September and is scheduled to fully open to the public in January 2026.
