Town of Grimsby Celebrates a Remarkable Year of Growth, Community, and Celebration
The Town of Grimsby is proudly reflecting on an extraordinary 2025 – a year defined by progress, partnership, and joyful moments shared across our community. From major infrastructure milestones to vibrant celebrations and record-breaking charitable initiatives, Grimsby continues to shine as a town where people come together to build something truly special.
“This year has shown the very best of Grimsby,” said Mayor Jeff Jordan. “Every celebration, every project, every act of generosity reflects a community that cares deeply about one another. I am so proud of the remarkable progress we’ve made together, and I look forward to building on this momentum as we enter 2026.”
A Year of Community Spirit: Events, Celebrations & Giving Back
Grimsby’s 2025 calendar was filled with unforgettable moments that brought neighbours together and showcased the heart of our community — from the International Plowing Match and the first-ever Casa Shoreline Social, to cultural festivals, flag raisings, ribbon-cutting ceremonies supporting local businesses, community fundraisers championing our not-for-profits, vibrant art exhibits, and beloved favourites like the GLaM Gala, Moonlight Market and Grimsby Glows.
Between the Mayor’s Masters Golf Tournament and the Grimsby Economic Gala, the Town contributed $94,910.63 to meaningful community causes. Through the Community Development Grant Program and Community Project Grant Program, local organizations also received support to deliver services and programs that enrich the lives of residents.
A series of 10 commemorative banners installed along Clarke Street paid tribute to Grimsby's veterans, offering a daily reminder of gratitude and remembrance.
Mayor’s Leadership in Action
Throughout 2025, Mayor Jeff Jordan hosted a series of initiatives that connected residents, celebrated creativity, and supported the community. A few noteworthy projects included the Mayor’s Holiday Card Contest, which celebrated youth creativity and seasonal spirit. Children and youth from across the community shared festive artwork for a chance to be featured on the 2025 Holiday Card. Each piece submitted was proudly displayed at the Grimsby Public Art Gallery, highlighting the talent and imagination of Grimsby’s next generation. The Mayor’s Business Breakfast, which provided valuable opportunities for local business leaders to connect, share ideas, and engage in meaningful dialogue with Council and Town staff – strengthening relationships, supporting business growth, and helping ensure Grimsby’s business community remains informed, connected, and heard.
