The Town of Grimsby inaugurates members of the Grimsby Business Ambassador Program

The Town of Grimsby, through its Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC), is proud to announce the inaugural cohort of the Grimsby Business Ambassador Program (GBAP). This bold, volunteer-driven initiative is aimed at strengthening the local economy by leveraging the expertise, influence, and networks of distinguished business leaders within the community.

By harnessing these prominent local business leaders, it not only strengthens Grimsby’s economy, but attracts new investment, and enhances the Town’s profile as a hub for innovation and growth.

With the selection of 10 distinguished ambassadors, the program now enters its next phase—actively engaging the business community to champion economic development initiatives across the region.

Role of Business Ambassadors

Grimsby’s Business Ambassadors serve as volunteer business influencers and key connectors between the Town and the broader business community. Their responsibilities include:

  • Acting as liaisons between local businesses and the Town of Grimsby.
  • Representing the Town at public events, trade shows, and conferences.
  • Promoting Grimsby as a hub for business growth and innovation.
  • Providing strategic feedback and sharing market insights.
  • Facilitating connections and directing businesses to vital resources.

These ambassadors were selected through a structured process, with criteria including residency in Grimsby, executive-level experience, and extensive business networks. Additional assets such as multilingual skills and strong ties to the ICI (Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional) sector were also considered.

Driving Impact Through Trusted Advocacy

The GBAP harnesses the power of word-of-mouth marketing—an influential and cost-effective strategy. Studies show that investor referrals convert 30% better and generate higher long-term value. By empowering ambassadors to share trusted recommendations and personal endorsements, the program fosters an environment where businesses can thrive.

The GBAP is not just another economic initiative—it’s a dynamic movement powered by community leaders who are passionate about showcasing Grimsby as a premier destination for investment and innovation. Business Ambassadors will play a vital role in championing the Town’s economic development, fostering business connections, and amplifying Grimsby’s presence both nationally and internationally.
