The Town of Grimsby accepting applications for the Heritage Property Grant Program

The Town of Grimsby is now accepting applications for the Heritage Property Grant Program, with funding up to $5,000 available and designated property owners can now apply for matching grants to help maintain heritage sites.

Protecting cultural heritage is vital to a community—it strengthens cultural identity, fosters a sense of place, and delivers both educational and economic benefits. The Town of Grimsby takes pride in its rich and diverse history and recognizes the importance of preserving and celebrating our stories, traditions, and historic buildings.

To continue supporting designated heritage property owners, the Town is once again offering financial assistance through its heritage grant program. Now in its second year, this program reflects the ongoing commitment to preserving Grimsby’s heritage and encouraging the long-term protection of our culturally significant spaces.

The program offers matching grants of up to $5,000 for eligible restoration and maintenance projects. Grant recipients are expected to complete the funded work within 12 months. In the past, successful applicants have used the funding for projects such as exterior woodwork repairs, painting, slate roof repairs, porch restoration, and masonry repointing.

Through this initiative, the Town is proud to partner with property owners in safeguarding the architectural and cultural legacy that defines Grimsby.
