The Downtown Reimagined Weekly Dispatch – September 25, 2026

Overnight watermain installation on Main Street East is now complete, aside from final connections that will be completed during daytime hours at a later date. Crews have also advanced the watermain onto Rossmore Avenue.

Looking Ahead: Week of September 28

Here’s what you need to know for the week ahead:

• Paving begins Sunday night: Pavement restoration will take place on Main Street East and Elm Street from Sunday, September 27 through Tuesday, September 29, weather permitting. Main Street East will be fully closed during overnight paving from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with local access maintained where safely possible.
• Advance notice: Letters were hand-delivered today to properties most directly impacted by the upcoming overnight work.
• Main Street West: Watermain installation is expected to begin as early as Tuesday, September 29, pending utility locates.
• Rossmore Avenue: Directional drilling for the remaining watermain is expected to begin Tuesday.
• Mountain Road: Advance signage is being installed ahead of upcoming road closures. Dates will be shared once confirmed.
