Public Works Responding to Weekend Rainfall Across Grimsby

The Town of Grimsby is aware of the heavy rainfall from the past few days impacting members of our community and those of our neighbouring municipalities. While Grimsby has not been impacted as severely as our neighbours, Public Works crews are currently at work across our community addressing any issues as they come up. The situation will continue to be monitored as catch basins are cleared and any stormwater is managed.

Residents can help reduce localized flooding by safely clearing leaves and debris from catch basins near their property, where possible.

If you are experiencing basement flooding or require assistance with a municipal issue related to the storm, please contact the Town of Grimsby Operations Centre at 905-945-9201. Due to the high volume of calls, you may be asked to leave a message. All calls will be triaged and responded to based on priority, and staff will return your call as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.

If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately.

Residents are also reminded to:

  • Avoid driving through flooded roads whenever possible.
  • Stay away from fast-moving water.
  • Residents are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada: https://weather.gc.ca/

Thank you for your patience as our Public Works crews continue responding to storm-related concerns throughout the community.
