Public Works Responding to Heavy Rainfall Across Grimsby
Following today's significant rainfall, Town of Grimsby Public Works crews are actively responding to localized flooding and stormwater issues across the community.
Crews are monitoring conditions, clearing catch basins, removing debris from roadways, and working to manage the high volumes of rainwater moving through the stormwater system. With Environment Canada continuing to issue a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for our area, staff will remain on the ground and respond as conditions evolve.
Residents can help reduce localized flooding by safely clearing leaves and debris from catch basins near their property, where possible.
If you are experiencing basement flooding or require assistance with a municipal issue related to the storm, please contact the Town of Grimsby Operations Centre at 905-945-9201. Due to the high volume of calls, you may be asked to leave a message. All calls will be triaged and responded to based on priority, and staff will return your call as soon as possible. We appreciate your patience.
If you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 immediately.
Residents are also reminded to:
- Avoid driving through flooded roads whenever possible.
- Stay away from fast-moving water.
- Residents are encouraged to stay informed by monitoring the latest forecasts and warnings from Environment Canada: https://weather.gc.ca/
Thank you for your patience as our Public Works crews continue responding to storm-related concerns throughout the community.
