Public Service Announcement: Voter Information Letter & Alternative Voting Opportunities

Eligible Voters in the Town of Grimsby should have received their Voter Information Letter by mail no later than October 1, 2026. 

Didn’t receive your Voter Information Letter?

  • Visit Town Hall at 160 Livingston Avenue and bring identification showing your name and qualifying Grimsby address. Town staff can assist you and print a replacement Voter Information Letter. 

Want to cast your ballot before Election Day on October 26?

The Town of Grimsby is offering several Alternative Voting Opportunities to make voting more convenient and accessible:

Online Voting:

  • October 5 at 12 p.m. until October 26 at 8 p.m.
  • A Voter Information Letter with a unique PIN is needed.
  • Accessed via our website at Elections | Town of Grimsby and runs 24 hours a day until the close of voting.

Advance Voting In-Person:

  • Wednesday, October 14 from 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. & Saturday, October 17 from 10 a.m. –  6 p.m. at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre.
  • Electors are encouraged to bring their Voter Information Letter with them to speed up the voting process.

Proxy Voting:

  • A Voting Proxy can be appointed to vote on behalf of someone else.
  • Both the Proxy and the person who appointed the Proxy must be eligible to vote in Grimsby.
  • Proxy Voting only applies to In-Person voting.
  • Two of the same form must be filled out and returned to Town Hall where Clerks Staff will authorize the Proxy.
  • The forms can be obtained at Town Hall, or online here: Election Resources and Forms | Town of Grimsby with one form staying on record in the Clerks Office, and the other brought by the proxy to the poll location. during either an Advance Poll or Election Day.
  • The last day to appoint a proxy is October 23, 2026.

Identification is required to vote. To help make the voting process more efficient, please bring your Voter Information Letter and identification showing your name and qualifying address to the poll if you plan on visiting in person. If your identification does not show both your name and address, you may need to present two pieces of identification. Please bring an original or certified/notarized copy of one of the following documents:

  • Ontario driver’s licence
  • Mortgage, lease, or rental agreement
  • Insurance policy
  • Credit card statement
  • Hydro, water, gas, telephone, or internet bill

Please note: A Canadian passport or Health Card by itself is not acceptable identification for Municipal and School Board Elections because it does not contain your address.
