Inaugural Grimsby Start-Up Showcase Celebrates Local Entrepreneurship

The Town of Grimsby is celebrating the success of its inaugural Grimsby Start-Up Showcase, held on Tuesday, September 22 at the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre.

The event brought together entrepreneurs, start-ups, micro-business owners, solopreneurs and aspiring business owners for a morning focused on connection, collaboration and business support.

Participants had the opportunity to connect with business support organizations, community partners and fellow entrepreneurs while learning more about programs, funding opportunities and practical resources available to help businesses launch, grow and succeed.

Small businesses and entrepreneurs play an important role in the strength and vitality of Grimsby’s local economy. The Start-Up Showcase was designed to bring the people, organizations and resources that support entrepreneurship together in one place while creating opportunities for meaningful connections within the local business community.

A special thank you goes to Frank Miele, the Town of Grimsby’s Economic Development Manager, and Azam Foda, founder of DeciZens Inc. and one of Grimsby’s Business Ambassadors, for their leadership in planning, managing and delivering the inaugural event. Azam also served as the event’s emcee, helping guide attendees through the morning’s program and conversations.

The Town also extends its thanks to the Grimsby Start-Up Working Group, participating organizations, community partners and everyone who attended for helping make the inaugural Showcase a success.

The success of the first Grimsby Start-Up Showcase demonstrates the value of creating opportunities for Grimsby’s business community to connect, share ideas and learn about the supports available to them.

The Town looks forward to continuing to support entrepreneurship and economic development in Grimsby and building on the momentum of this inaugural event.
