Grimsby strengthens community connections with 11 Project Grants

The Town of Grimsby has awarded 11 significant and well-deserving community organizations grants as part of the Community Project Grant Program. These grants are intended to provide eligible groups the financial support to help the start-up of an eligible organization, project or short-term undertaking, and enhance programs aimed at increasing community participation.

The 2025 Recipients of the Community Project Grant Program includes:

·         Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch

·         Stockings of Love for Seniors

·         1st North Grimsby Scouting

·         Grimsby Celebration Choir

·         Habitat for Humanity

·         Grimsby Grizzlies Basketball

·         Grimsby Curling Club

·         The Volunteer Well

·         Big Brothers Big Sisters

·         The Foundation of Resources for Teens

·         Nelles Manor Heritage House

Applicants were judged based on a specific set of criteria, including registration as a charity and the potential to significantly benefit Grimsby residents by addressing unmet needs or enhancements to existing services. Evidence of community support and financial feasibility was also a key factor, with a priority given to original projects over those previously awarded funding.

This grant program was designed to help facilitate any projects that individuals, groups, and non-profit organizations create to enhance the quality of life in our community. Community grants are not only vital to a community, but they support local initiatives that foster community engagement, cultural enrichment, and social impact.

All grant recipients are required to submit a final report detailing the outcomes of their projects and the expenditures covered by the grant funding.
