Forty Mile Creek Pedestrian Bridge is now open to the public
The new pedestrian bridge installed at Forty Mile Creek Park (Elizabeth Street Pumphouse) is officially open to the public.
Closed for several years, this new bridge provides an important connection from the Forty Mile Creek Trail to other parts of the community. The renovated bridge is part of the Town’s Recreational Trails Master Plan and is an important step in maintaining on of Grimsby’s historic green areas.
The new bridge will not only improve connectivity but will enhance recreational opportunities for the whole community, whether they are walking, cycling, or taking in the scenic views the area has to offer.
Quote:
"This installation is something I have been very excited to see come to fruition. Forty Mile Creek is an area steeped in the history and beauty of Grimsby. The opening of this bridge will allow our community to once again take in the scenic views and allow our trailblazers to more easily and safely connect to our Town’s trail systems." Jeff Jordan, Mayor of the Town of Grimsby.
