Final Draft Grimsby Official Plan to be Considered for Adoption on July 13

The Town of Grimsby's Final Draft Official Plan is now available for public review and will be presented for consideration and adoption at the Council meeting on Monday, July 13, 2026.

The Official Plan is the Town's long-term policy document that guides how Grimsby will grow and develop to 2051. It establishes a vision for land use, housing, transportation, employment, parks, environmental protection, and community development while ensuring conformity with provincial legislation and policies.

Throughout the Official Plan Review, the Town has worked to:

  • Align the Plan with the priorities of Council and the community while conforming with provincial plans and policies.
  • Incorporate relevant policies from the Niagara Region Official Plan.
  • Make the plan easier to read and navigate.
  • Plan for how Grimsby will grow and evolve.

The Final Draft Official Plan reflects several years of technical analysis, policy development, and extensive community engagement.
