Family Day Weekend 2026 Facility Hours

In observance of the Family Day long weekend, please note that the following Town facilities will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026.

• Grimsby Public Art Gallery
• Grimsby Public Library
• Grimsby Museum
• Operations Centre

The Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre will be open from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. (Customer Service hours 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.).

Normal hours of operation will resume Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Family Day at the MRPKC

Come down to the Major Refrigeration Peach King Centre this Family Day for a full day of family-friendly activities! From 2 to 5 p.m. the MRPKC will be offering free public skating, Wee Gym, face painting, balloon twisting, crafts with Creative Bug, and a “Try It” period for the Orchardview Fitness Centre (please bring clean indoor shoes!). Pickleball registrations are also open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for $15 an hour. Book a pickleball reservation here.

Black History Month

This Black History Month, the Grimsby Museum is celebrating Black voices. Take some time to browse the book displays celebrating Black authors and stories that explore history, culture, and identity. These displays will be refreshed throughout the month, so make sure to come visit regularly for new books to check out!

Heritage Week

From February 16 to 22, Grimsby will be celebrating its annual Heritage Week. Check out the Town social accounts for information on Grimsby’s history and events happening throughout the week!

Firework Ban

By accordance with Bylaw 20-41, the use of fireworks are not prohibited. We ask the public to respect the fireworks ban and stay safe - one spark can lead to a fire and put others at risk!
