Downtown Reimagined Project Update – August 14, 2026

Downtown Reimagined continues to take shape, with another week of infrastructure work underway on Elm Street. 

Here’s what you need to know for the week of August 17:

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Crews will continue installing the new watermain, sanitary lateral connections and water service connections on Elm Street east of Mountain Street. A new water valve chamber and fire hydrant will also be installed as part of this work.

Temporary driveway closures may be required near TD Bank and GBF Plaza. Affected businesses and property owners will receive advance notice.

LOOKING AHEAD

Work will continue east along Elm Street toward Main Street East, with crews focused on watermain and water service installations.

TRAFFIC IMPACTS

Elm Street will remain open with single-lane, alternating two-way traffic during working hours.

Paid duty police officers and contractor flag persons will continue to help manage traffic near the Elm Street and Main Street East intersection. Motorists should expect minor delays, follow posted signage and use caution through the construction zone.
