Council Update: Deferral to Planning & Development Committee
At its recent meeting, Grimsby Town Council considered matters related to the Woolverton application (13 Mountain Street, 19-23 Elm Street in Downtown Grimsby). Following discussion, Council voted to defer a decision to allow for additional public input and to seek clarity on specific matters, including:
- Niagara Escarpment Commission (NEC) comments
- Cash-in-lieu of parking
- Parking framework
- Transportation studies
Town staff are preparing a memo to address these items. This memo is intended to be included with the upcoming Planning and Development Committee agenda, which is scheduled to be published on May 1.
What this means:
- The Woolverton application (Item 8.1) has been deferred to the May 6, 2026 Planning and Development Committee meeting.
- Members of the public will have another opportunity to participate in the process. Anyone wishing to speak (delegate) at the meeting can submit a delegation request through the Town’s website (www.grimsby.ca/town-hall/mayor-and-council/speaking-at-committee-or-council/) by Tuesday, May 5 at 5 p.m.
We will continue to share updates as more information becomes available.
