Construction Begins On Grimsby GO Station
A historic milestone has been reached as the new Grimsby GO Station begins construction. Minister of Transportation Prabmeet Sarkaria and MPP Sam Oosterhoff joined Mayor Jeff Jordan, Members of Council and Town staff in announcing this exciting development. This new station will reduce gridlock and help commuters decrease travel time between Niagara Region and GTHA, eliminating the need for Grimsby residents to travel 30 minutes to reach their nearest GO station while increasing regional connectivity and economic growth.
The GO Transit expansion into Grimsby is part of GO 2.0, an initiative to invest in and increase passenger rail availability across the region. This new station will be on GO Transit’s Lakeshore West line, between Confederation GO Station in Hamilton and the St. Catharines GO. The expected opening date for Grimsby GO is slated for summer 2027.
