A simpler way to report flooding

With the possibility of heavy rain during the summer months, we want to make sure residents know the best way to reach us if flooding or storm-related concerns arise.

The Town has added a dedicated flooding option to our Report an Issue tool, making it easier to report basement flooding and other municipal storm-related concerns.

Using the tool helps ensure your concern is formally logged, directed to the appropriate staff and reviewed as quickly as possible.

A few reminders when submitting your report:

Having trouble uploading photos or videos?

Photos and videos are helpful, but they are not required as part of your initial report. Please don’t let difficulty uploading a file prevent you from submitting your information.

The most important thing is to complete the required fields, including your name, address and a detailed description of what occurred. In the notes section, you can also indicate that you have additional photos and/or videos available.

If staff require those materials as part of their review, we will reach out directly with instructions on how to provide them.

Having trouble with the form?

If you experience a technical issue while submitting your report, please take a screenshot of the error message, if possible, and email it to info@grimsby.ca so we can look into it.

For urgent flooding-related concerns, you can also contact the Town’s Operations Centre at 905-945-9201. During significant weather events, call volumes may be high and you may be asked to leave a message. Calls will be triaged and responded to as quickly as possible.

For emergencies, always call 911.

Please note: Reporting flooding to the Town does not replace contacting your home insurance provider regarding damage to your property.
