2025 International Plowing Match & Rural Expo

The International Plowing Match & Rural Expo (IPM) is coming to the West Niagara Agricultural Centre & Fairgrounds in Grassie from September 16 – 20, and the Town of Grimsby is excited to take part as an exhibitor! You’ll find us on site daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at booth 4A 13–14.

Our booth will showcase the four pillars of Grimsby:

• History & Heritage – featuring relics from the Grimsby Museum that highlight our architectural roots and cultural artifacts.
• Downtown & Food – celebrating local flavours, delicious dining, great shopping and our vibrant community spirit.
• Nature & Waterfront – maps, displays, and stunning imagery of our natural spaces.
• Agriculture – including an antique tractor and a fruit stand with fresh Niagara apples.

Plus, an information table will highlight fun things to do in Grimsby and must-see places around town.

Special IPM Events in Grimsby

• Grimsby Farmers’ Market – enjoy extended hours on Thursday, September 18 from 3 – 8 p.m.
• Movie Night in the Park – join us at Coronation Park for a screening of How to Train Your Dragon Live Action.

There’s lots to see, do, and celebrate—come out and experience the best of Grimsby at this exciting event!

Southward Park Access

Southward Park will be offering reserved parking for visitors attending the International Plowing Match (IPM). Please note that parking and access to park facilities may be limited during event hours, daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The public will continue to have full access to the park in the evenings after 6:00 p.m. A small number of parking spaces will remain available for public use during the day, but visitors should expect heavier traffic and reduced availability while the IPM is underway.

Road Safety

As we gear up to welcome more than 70,000 visitors for this event, Grimsby can anticipate higher-than-expected traffic volumes, and we encourage the public and residents to allow extra time, follow the direction of traffic control staff, and be mindful of pedestrians and fellow motorists.
