The Town of Grimsby has appointed four standing committees that help to find ways to address issues in our community, for more information on the individual committees see below. As the standing committee is focused on one area of business, issues can be exlored and debated more thoroughly. 

Administration and Finance Committee

The Administration and Finance committee is comprised of the mayor and four aldermen. The Administration Department, Finance Department, and Fire Department report to Council through this committee, as well as the library, art gallery and museum for budget purposes.

The Committee meets at 3:30 p.m. on the second Monday of the month.

Planning and Development Committee

The Planning and Development Committee is comprised of four aldermen and three citizen appointees.

This committee meets at 7 p.m. on the Tuesday prior to council meetings.

  • Economic development and promotion
  • Building inspections

Public Works Committee

The Public Works Committee is comprised of four aldermen. The Public Works Department reports to council through this committee.

Recreation, Facilities and Culture Committee

The Recreation, Facilities and Culture Committee is comprised of four aldermen and three citizen appointees.

Speaking as a delegation at committee 

Residents wishing to appear before a standing committee as a delegation must contact the Town Clerk the Friday prior to the meeting. You can learn more about appearing as a delegation.
