The Grimsby Public Library is currently closed due to COVID-19. This Storytime session will be postponed until we reopen. Anyone who is registered will be contacted with more information. Learn more on our homepage.

How to register

Visit the Grimsby Public Library on or after the registration date to sign up in person.

Program schedule

Click below to see the available time slots per age group. Your child will attend every week on that day and time for 8 weeks. Please let the library know if you need to cancel your registration.

 Baby Time (Ages 0-12 mo.)

Baby Time is for children ages 0 to 12 months. Enjoy stories, songs and finger games to stimulate vision and hearing development. Babies must attend with a guardian.

Available time slots:

Thursday: 9:30 a.m. / 10:30 a.m.

Cost:

$20 per child

Program Length:

30 minutes

 Tales & Tunes (Ages 1-2)

Tales and Tunes is for children ages 1 to 2. Develop early literacy skills in your little ones using stories, rhymes, music and movement. Kids must attend with a guardian.

Available time slots:

Friday:

9:30 a.m.

Cost:

$20 per child

Program Length:

30 minutes

 Toddler Time (Ages 2-3)

Toddler Time is for children ages 2 to 3 years. Share stories, rhymes, songs, felt board activities, and a thematic craft in this fun and engaging program. Kids must attend with a guardian.

Available time slots:

Monday / 10:30 a.m.

Cost:

$22 per child

Program Length:

30 minutes

 Storytime (Ages 3+)

Story Time is for children 3 years and older. Children will further develop literacy skills through themed stories, songs and rhymes. Each session concludes with a theme-related craft. Caregivers are welcome to attend with their child(ren).

Wednesday / 10:30 a.m.

$22 per child

About Storytimes at GPL

Please be aware of the following before registering for storytime programs at GPL:

  • A minimum of 4 registered children is required for a program to proceed. If a program has fewer than 4 registered children, the caregivers will be contacted and invited to register for another program if one is available
  • Caregivers pick a program based on the child's age
  • Programs run for eight weeks with one session per week
  • Each weekly session runs for approximately 30 to 45 minutes.
  • Programs feature age-appropriate stories, songs, rhymes, activities and crafts that are tailored to develop early literacy and language skills
  • Please check our website for emergency or weather-related closures before attending each week
  • If you need to cancel your registration, please inform library staff as there may a waitlist
  • Programs are offered in the fall, winter and spring.
