The Grimsby Santa Claus parade is a great community event that is only possible through the participation and enthusiasm of community organizations. It is free to enter into the parade for non-profit groups and businesses entering floats and trailers. There is a small fee for business decorated vehicles. These fees go towards our parade costs which include Police services, marching bands and other operational costs. Each year the parade has a different theme so that groups are continually challenged to be creative and festive.

Making your parade entry great.

Thousands of people will see your parade entry, so we know that you want it to look great, and be a great experience for your organization. Here are a few tips to keep in mind:

  • LIGHTS - because it is a night time parade, the more lights, the better.
  • GO BIG - spectators won't see the tiny details, they see the big overall impression as you pass by, so try to make your visuals big and easy to see.
  • INTERACTIVE - have fun with the crowd - smile, wave, shake hands, high five, dance with them.
  • WIND AND WEATHER - to ensure that your entry is safe, be sure to consider wind and weather. Make sure that everything is tied down very well.
  • Make sure you have reviewed our parade rules (back side of entry sheet). We want to ensure that we have a fun and safe parade for everyone.
