What to expect at GAS events

At each GAS event, the featured authors give readings and talk about their latest books. This is followed by a question-and-answer period with the audience. Local wines and light snacks are served before the talks begin, and the evenings include door prize draws, a chance to purchase a copy of the featured titles, and a book signing by the authors. Check out Author and Events for upcoming events.

 "At the Library" Events
Extra At the Library events are added each year to the spring and fall seasons of the Grimsby Author Series. They take place at the Grimsby Public Library in the Centre Space. Tickets are sold separately. These events feature one or two authors and offer a more niche topic, like cookbooks, history, mystery, etc. Check out At the Library for upcoming events.
 Door Prizes

Each evening has several door prize draws. Prizes include gift certificates, gift baskets, and/or tickets to various Niagara and Hamilton concerts or performances. Our sponsors generously donate most of our door prizes. We also give away copies of the evening's featured titles.

 GAS History

The Grimsby Author Series began in 2002. It was originally conceived by the Grimsby Public Library Board out of a desire to help fundraise for the new local library and art gallery that was under construction, and to promote reading and literacy in the community.

Previous locations

Originally the Series was held at the old Grimsby Pumphouse on the shores of Lake Ontario. Very shortly, it grew out of this venue and moved to the larger one at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School for the next three seasons.

Current location and accomplishments

The Series outgrew the high school in 2007, when it was moved to its present location at the Casablanca Winery Inn. More than 20,000 people have attended our events over the years, with nearly 150 Canadian author appearances. The Library is so proud of all the organizers, volunteers and sponsors that have helped to make the Grimsby Author Series the huge success it has become today.

 Tickets

Ticket packages are sold separately for the Spring Season and Fall Season, and cost $75 each. Single ticket sales will only be possible if tickets remain available as the reading approaches. Tickets for At the Library events are sold separately for $15 each. Buy tickets online or at the Library. To learn more, go to Tickets.
