ParticipACTION Challenge

For the month of June, The Town of Grimsby will be participating in the ParticipACTION Community Better Challenge, the physical activity challenge that rallies communities to get moving.

Participate by downloading the (FREE) ParticipACTION app available for iphone and android (or search for the app with the word ParticipACTION).  Through the app you can track your activity minutes and contribute to the challenge. You can link the app to your personal fitness tracker, and also get free fitness tips and wellness ideas.  Every move counts! #CommunityBetterChallenge

We know that the COVID-19 pandemic has brought many challenges and many of us have had to adjust to cancelled or virtual programming. Now more than ever, it’s important to find ways to connect with our friends, family and community and the Community Better Challenge can help us do so, safely! Helping to strengthen communities through physical activity and sport, the Community Better Challenge is awarding $100,000 to the community who rallies the most participants, community organizations and accumulates the most active minutes during the challenge.

We encourage residents of Grimsby to sign up and attend a Community Better event/program: Don’t forget to track your community’s physical activity on the ParticipACTION APP or the website

 Let’s get active to support Grimsby’s quest to be Canada’s Most Active Community and win $100,000 for local physical activity initiatives.  You are allowed a maximum of 180 minutes per day so Every minute counts!


FREE Fitness Classes

Our Parks, Recreation and Culture Department will be hosting many outdoor fitness events in our local parks.  We have activities ranging from Yoga in the Park and on the Beach, Yoga and a Hike, a Body Challenge Blitz and even Family Dance Fit plus many more.   The community better challenge classes are free for participants and the outdoor activities will run from June 14th to June 26th with classes running during the day, evening and weekend.
