Mayor Jordan Hosts Successful Information Night for Town Residents

Mayor Jeff Jordan's Information Night

On Thursday June 24th 2021, Mayor Jordan hosted a virtual Information Night to answer questions from the public regarding ongoing Town initiatives and projects. Grimsby residents submitted their questions to the Mayor through the Let’s Talk Grimsby website from May 20th to June 7th.

Questions submitted to the Mayor covered a wide range of topics, including how the Town will continue to expand its environmental initiatives, follow up inquires regarding the Ward Boundary review, potential opportunities to beautify the east side of Main Street as well as how Council will continue to protect Grimsby’s heritage.

Other notable highlights included questions regarding COVID-19 and how the Town will support local businesses that have been negatively impacted by the pandemic.

Mayor Jordan shared that while there are many Town initiatives on the go that seek to support local businesses through this difficult time, there are two initiatives currently under way that aim to help local businesses both now and in their post-COVID-19 recovery.

The Grimsby’s Got It! buy local campaign is currently underway, promoting the importance of supporting local businesses now more than ever. Additionally, Grimsby’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC) has launched its first ever Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) initiative to identify opportunities to help local businesses grow, create jobs and stay in Grimsby as they navigate through these uncertain times.

“It was an honour to host another Information Night for Grimsby residents. I love hearing from community members and am always happy to provide them with the information they need about ongoing Town initiatives and projects.” – Mayor Jordan
