Development Charges (DC) are fees applied to development projects to help municipalities pay for the capital cost of infrastructure required to support new growth.  Municipalities are given the authority to collect these fees through the Development Charges Act (DCA). In order to collect these fees, municipalities are required to prepare a development charges background study following the requirements of the DCA, make the study available to the public, hold a public meeting and pass a by-law to authorize the collection of the fees.

The Town of Grimsby retained Watson and Associates to help prepare a new DC background study to amend the previous background study that was completed in 2016.  A link to the Public Meeting Notice and 2020 Study is provided below.
