WLMH redevelopment update - RFP posted for construction proposals
Attached is a news release issued this afternoon by Hamilton Health Sciences, in tandem with an announcement by the Government of Ontario regarding the RFP process now underway for construction proposals for the rebuilding of the WLMH site. This is a significant milestone towards having shovels in the ground as quickly as possible.

The province has announced that Ontario will move in to Phase 2 of the Reopening Plan on Wednesday, June 30. This will include:
- Outdoor social gatherings and organized public events for up to 25 people
- Indoor social gatherings and organized public events for up to 5 people
- Outdoor dining for up to 6 people per table
- Essential and other select retail permitted at 50% capacity
- Non-essential retail capacity at 25%
- Stores in shopping malls open, with restrictions

On Thursday June 24th 2021, Mayor Jordan hosted a virtual Information Night to answer questions from the public regarding ongoing Town initiatives and projects. Grimsby residents submitted their questions to the Mayor through the Let’s Talk Grimsby website from May 20th to June 7th.

Town Launches COVID-19 Business Support Page to Assist Local Businesses
On May 20th, 2021, the Town of Grimsby’s Economic Development Advisory Committee (GEDAC), in partnership with the Grimsby Chamber of Commerce, launched the Town’s first Business Retention & Expansion (BR&E) initiative with local businesses.

The Town of Lincoln and The Town of Grimsby are collectively embarking on a pilot project to undertake shared fire protection services. Both Councils have approved reports directing their respective staff to proceed with a joint shared fire service pilot for the two neighbouring communities in West Niagara.
