The Total Solar Eclipse was a remarkable event, and we hope you created lasting memories for years to come.

If you are looking to give your eclipse glasses a second chance, the Town of Grimsby is encouraging the community to drop their glasses off at a Town facility. We will be collecting and donating them to Astronomers Without Borders, or we’ll manage the proper recycling and disposal if they aren’t reusable. With the Total Solar Eclipse only days away, Town Staff and Council are hoping residents will take advantage of this once-in-a-lifetime rare phenomenon.

To do so, some safety precautions are recommended as Niagara will be one of the best places in Canada to view the Total Solar Eclipse, and hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected to come to our region, likely passing through Grimsby.
