Niagara Region, April 15, 2016 - A second raccoon from the Caistor Centre area in West Lincoln has tested positive for rabies. In Hamilton and its bordering areas, a total of 84 animals with raccoon strain rabies (60 raccoons and 24 skunks) have been confirmed since December.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), along with SPCAs and Humane Societies, are continuing to conduct increased surveillance activities for animals with rabies.
