Borrowing Services

- Need a little more time with your item? Your loan period may be renewed up to 5 times.

- Each renewal period is the same as the original loan period.

- Items cannot be renewed if the item has been requested by another patron.

- You may renew over the phone, in person or online through your online account.

- Overdue fines will be charged on late items.

Placing 'Holds'

If the title you wish to borrow is in our catalogue, but currently checked out, we welcome you to go on the waiting list by placing a "hold" on the item. Cardholders may place a hold on library materials in person, online, or over the telephone. The item you have requested will be set aside for you as soon as it is available. After you receive email or telephone notification, you will have 5 days to pick up your hold.

When searching our online catalogue, you can place a hold on an item by clicking on the button labelled “place request.” Please have your library card ready, as you will need your barcode to reserve material. Your barcode is 14 digits in length and is located on your library card. To access your account online, you will also use your password, which is usually the last 4 digits in your phone number

Email Notification

We now offer email notification for holds, pre-overdue notices, and overdue notices. Ask to sign up today by calling 905.945.5142, or next time you visit the library.

We ask that you please fill out this form and bring it in if you would like email notification, as it gives us your consent to send these messages. Your library account will be updated within 2 business days. No spam or other messages you expressly do not want or have not requested will appear in your inbox. Only what you sign up for.
