On May 22th, 2018, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) will be initiating a summer residential survey for the Plum Pox Virus (PPV) in the Niagara Region. The survey will be through the cities of Stoney Creek, Lincoln, Grimsby, Beamsville, Vineland, Jordan, St. Catharines, Thorold, Niagara Falls and Niagara-on-the-Lake. The PPV residential survey will conclude at the end of August 2018. PPV Inspectors will be going door to door to sample PPV susceptible plant species, as well as enforcing the current Propagation Ban, with one or two trained summer students.
