Media Release (St. Catharines) The Lincoln County Humane Society is looking forward to several late summer events with our new Mobile Adoption Unit.
September 8 & 9, the LCHS will be at the Canadian Pet Expo in Mississauga for a Microchip Clinic and Adoption Event. Our blue unit will be parked inside the Mississauga International Centre, along with hundreds of other animal vendors and displays. The LCHS reached out to the Ontario SPCA, all Niagara Shelters, including Fort Erie, Niagara Falls and Welland and reached out to 6 rescue organizations, including: Niagara Pets Alive, Community Animal Allies Niagara, Niagara Falls Community Cats, Port Colborne Feline Initiative, Niagara Action for Animals and Animal Assistance to partner with the LCHS for the big event. Over 17,000 people are expected to attend and view our adoption animals.
September 14, 15 & 16, the LCHS is again working with other organizations to collaborate on the PetSmart Adopt-a-thon, happening in St. Catharines at the YMCA location. Our trailer will be on site and we will also have animals inside the store – in the hope of finding terrific homes for all of our loving pets.
Finally, on September 29, the LCHS will be showcasing our new unit in the Grande Parade of the Niagara Wine Festival. 70-100,000 people attend this parade each year and the LCHS will proudly display how we are part of the community and how we are working hard to save lives every day. Instead of live animals in the trailer, we will have large photos of animals available for adoption inside the shelter. We will also be walking adoption dogs in the parade.
