1. What kind of authors visit the Grimsby Author Series? 

You can expect high-caliber, critically-acclaimed, award-winning, and internationally recognized authors at our series from across all genres. Each season is different, but usually our authors are Canadian or live in Canada and have recently released a new work - frequently found on bestseller lists across the country. 2. What happens at a Grimsby Author Series event?

Each regular season event usually features 2 authors. Each author has about twenty minutes to talk about their work and give a reading, followed with a question-and-answer period with the audience. Each evening concludes with door prize draws and a chance to purchase a copy of the featured titles, and then haved it signed by the author. Wine from local Niagara wineries and light snacks or treats are served before the talks begin, allowing people a chance to mingle and talk.

 

3. How many events take place in a season? And when?

Each season is made up of 6 events: 3 fall events and 3 winter events. Additional special events may also take place that are not included in the regular season ticket package.

Regular season events usually take place in September, October, and November in the fall season, and January, February, and March in the winter season. However, depending on author availability events can take place in December or April as well. 'At the Library' events take place throughout the season, with dates varying from year to year.

 

4. When do tickets go on sale?

Tickets for the Grimsby Author Series usually go on sale in the August before the season begins in September of any given year. Roughly a month in advance.   

 

5. Where do the events take place?

Each of our regular season events take place at the Casablanca Winery Inn. Any additional special events will usually take place at the Grimsby Public Library.

 

6. What time do events start?

During the regular season events, doors open at 7 PM with the talks beginning at 7:30 PM. The 'At the Library' special events start times can vary. Please check the website for this information.  

 

7. How will I know if an event has been cancelled?

We will do our best to spread the word if an event needs to be cancelled due to inclement weather or author illness with as much notice as possible. Before heading out to the event please check our website and/or twitter feed for any cancellations.
